And then it hit me..

Hooray!! Today, exactly seven years ago, Room for Concepts was born!

You know what? It took seven years for this cake to hit me. And while others might have, or believe they should have, a clear and compelling picture of a future outcome when they start their business, I definitely didn’t see this cake coming seven years ago.

When I started as a freelance product designer, I grabbed ahold of every project I could get my hands on. But as the cake came closer, I started to see it a little bit. Like a white creamy blob in the distance. I learned about entrepreneurship on the fly, trying stuff. Failing. Trying again. And the more this taught me about myself and the world, the clearer it became. Until it hit me: Room for Concepts now is a concept design studio with a very particular way of looking at the world. Not just reacting, but initiating.

I believe in the impact of creating meaningful connections. In using innovation to add value in the real world. To make it more social, safe and liveable. By influencing behaviour, not by focussing on the wrong, but by positively seducing the right out of people.

And while I have no clue what kind of cake is gonna hit me seven years from now, I do believe these same ingredients will be part of it. And it feels good. Thank you all, for the flavour you add to my cake!
